The prescription drug Solodyn
® (
minocycline hydrochloride) is approved for the treatment of acne that causes red, inflamed, pus-filled bumps. It is not used to treat milder cases that only cause whiteheads or blackheads. The medication comes in the form of an extended-release tablet and is taken just once a day.
Prior to taking Solodyn, tell your healthcare provider about any other medical conditions you have, especially kidney or liver problems. He or she will also need a complete list of all other drugs you are taking, including supplements.
