Cases of moderate-to-severe acne can often be treated successfully with Solodyn
® (
minocycline hydrochloride). As an extended-release (ER) product, Solodyn is taken just once a day and releases the medication into the bloodstream throughout the day. Treatment generally lasts about 12 weeks, although you may take the drug longer if you and your healthcare provider feel it is necessary.
Although most people have no problems with Solodyn, adverse reactions are possible. In clinical trials, common side effects included
headache, dizziness, and tiredness. Fortunately, if problems do occur, they are usually mild and easily treated.
