Solodyn® (
minocycline hydrochloride) to treat cases of moderate-to-severe acne, the amount your healthcare provider recommends will depend on a few factors, namely your weight and how well your kidneys are functioning. Regardless of the strength prescribed, dosing guidelines for Solodyn call for one tablet to be taken once a day. Taking the tablet with food can help prevent irritation of the esophagus.
The usual course of treatment is 12 weeks. However, your healthcare provider may recommend that you take Solodyn for a longer period. If you don't see any improvement in your acne in 12 weeks, let your healthcare provider know. Do not adjust your Solodyn dose without talking to your healthcare provider first.
