Practically any medication can cause side effects, and Solodyn® (minocycline hydrochloride) is no exception. This antibiotic is used in the treatment of acne -- in particular, acne that is characterized by red, inflamed, pus-filled bumps. Sometimes, antibiotics cause other infections to appear. For example, with Solodyn, a yeast infection or fungal infection might occur during the course of acne treatment.
If you are experiencing possible signs of a yeast infection with Solodyn, contact your healthcare provider (see Yeast Infection Symptoms). He or she can confirm this and recommend treatment if necessary.
