Solodyn® (minocycline hydrochloride) is licensed to treat cases of acne that cause specific types of lesions. This tetracycline antibiotic comes in tablet form and is taken once a day. The tablet is specially designed to release the medication slowly into your bloodstream throughout the day.
 
When taking Solodyn, you may have an increased sensitivity to the sun. Wear long sleeves and pants when outdoors, if possible, and use a sunscreen with an SPF factor of at least 45.
