Minocin Drug Interactions

Antacids, birth control pills, and ergot medications are among the drugs that may interfere with Minocin. These types of interactions could decrease the effectiveness of the medications or increase your risk for side effects. Minocin® (minocycline hydrochloride) may potentially interact with a number of other medicines. These medications that may lead to drug interactions with Minocin can include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Aluminum, calcium, iron, or magnesium products (such as many antacids, iron supplements, calcium supplements, laxatives, and multivitamins)
  • Bile-acid sequestrants, including:

 

 

 

    • Bromocriptine (Parlodel®)
    • Dihydroergotamine (Migranal®)
    • Ergonovine
    • Ergotamine (Bellamine S, Cafergot®, Ergomar®)
    • Methylergonovine (Methergine®)
