Acne Home > Pediatric and Off-Label Indications for Claravis

Is It Safe for Children to Use Claravis?

Claravis is approved for use in children as young as 12 years old, although there is some concern that it may cause thinning of the bones (osteoporosis) when used in children or teens. Talk with your child's healthcare provider about the benefits and risks of using this medicine in children.

What About Off-Label Uses?

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend this drug for something other than acne treatment. This is known as an "off-label" use. Claravis is sometimes used off-label as a chemotherapy drug to treat certain types of cancer.
