Fabior Drug Interactions

When certain products are used in combination with Fabior, adverse reactions could occur and may lead to a number of complications. For example, some drug interactions may decrease the effectiveness of Fabior or make you more sensitive to the sun. Some of the medications that can negatively interact with Fabior include other acne products that dry out the skin, certain antibiotics, and sulfonamides.

An Overview of Interactions With Fabior

Even though Fabior® (tazarotene foam) is applied to the skin, it can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the products that may react with Fabior include but are not limited to:
 
  • Fluoroquinolone antibiotics, such as:
 
 
  • Other acne medications or products that dry the skin
  • Phenothiazine medications, such as:
 
 
  • Sulfonamides ("sulfa drugs"), including sulfadiazine, sulfadoxine (Fansidar®), sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim®, Septra®), and sulfisoxazole (Gantrisin®)
  • Tetracycline antibiotics, such as:
 
 
  • Thiazide diuretics (and thiazide-like diuretics), such as:
