Differin Patent Expiration

Differin® (adapalene) is a prescription skin medication approved for the treatment of acne. It is currently under the protection of a patent that prevents any generic versions of the medication from being manufactured in the United States.
The first patent expiration date for Differin is May 2010. This is the earliest predictable date that a generic version could become available. However, some Differin products have additional patents or exclusivity rights that extend much later.
There are also other circumstances that could come up to extend or shorten the exclusivity period of Differin. This could include such things as lawsuits or other patents for specific Differin uses.
