Differin 0.3%

If you have problems with acne, your healthcare provider may prescribe Differin® (adapalene) 0.3% Gel. This formulation of Differin is probably the most appropriate dosage amount for people who have more severe acne. There is also a Differin 0.1% formulation available in the form of a gel, lotion, or cream.

When using this medication for acne treatment, apply a thin layer to the affected area once daily (just before bedtime). Do not use more than a small amount, as it could increase your risk of skin irritation and does not increase the effectiveness of the medication.

With Differin, it is normal for your acne to get worse before it gets better. This is due to the action of the medication on acne lesions that were hidden beneath the skin. It is important to try to "stick it out" for a least two months or so, when you will have a much better idea of whether this medication is working for you.
