Acne Cream Differin

A healthcare provider may prescribe Differin® (adapalene) to treat acne. Differin cream, lotion, and gel are available in various strengths, and are typically applied to the affected areas once daily (just before bedtime).

As a type of retinoid medication, Differin is thought to work by reducing inflammation and slowing down the rapid growth of skin cells. Although most people tolerate this medicine well, side effects are possible and may include dry skin, a burning sensation, and redness. You may not be able to use this drug if you have eczema, a sunburn, or certain allergies.
