Benzamycin Pak

People with acne may benefit from Benzamycin® (erythromycin/benzoyl peroxide). This prescription medication is available in two forms: Benzamycin gel (in a jar) and Benzamycin Pak (in individual pouches). Both Benzamycin products contain 3% erythromycin and 5% benzoyl peroxide.

When using the Benzamycin gel (in the jar), the pharmacist will mix the medication before you receive it; for the Benzamycin Pak pouches, you will have to mix the medication right before each use. These products are topical, which means the gel is applied directly to the affected area(s) of the skin.

This acne medicine may not be suitable for people with eczema or a sunburn, or for those using certain other topical medications. Make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other medical conditions you have and other medications you are taking before starting treatment with Benzamycin.
