Epiduo Medication Information

Epiduo® (adapalene/benzoyl peroxide) is a drug prescribed for treating acne in adults and adolescents age 12 and older. It comes in the form of a skin gel and is applied to the affected areas once a day.

Epiduo contains two acne medicines -- adapalene (Differin®) and benzoyl peroxide. It works by suppressing inflammation, slowing down the rapid growth of skin cells, and killing acne-causing bacteria. By combining these two products, Epiduo treats current pimples while also helping to prevent new ones from occurring.

Although the drug is generally well tolerated, it is not suitable for everyone. Before using Epiduo, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on your medical history and a list of your current medications. In particular, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you have problems such as a sunburn or sensitivity to the sun.
