Duac Acne Medication Information

Duac® (clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide) is available only by prescription and is approved for treating acne. This acne medication is not appropriate for everyone; your healthcare provider needs complete information on your medical history and any other medicines you are taking before prescribing Duac.

Although many people do not have any problems while using this product, Duac can cause side effects, such as dry skin, redness, and peeling. If negative reactions do occur, they tend to be mild and easily treated.

This medicine comes in the form of a gel and is applied to the affected area of the skin once daily in the evening. Duac contains two medications and works by killing acne-causing bacteria.

(Click Duac for more information on this acne medication. This article gives more details on how this medicine works, lists additional side effects, and offers some safety precautions to be aware of before beginning treatment.)
