Benzamycin Acne Medication Information

Benzamycin® (erythromycin/benzoyl peroxide) is a drug prescribed for treating acne in adults and adolescents age 12 and older. It comes in the form of a skin gel and is applied to the affected areas twice a day.
 
Benzamycin contains two acne medicines: erythromycin and benzoyl peroxide. It works by killing acne-causing bacteria.
 
Although the drug is generally well tolerated, it is not suitable for everyone. Before using Benzamycin for acne treatment, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on your medical history and a list of your current medications. In particular, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you have problems such as eczema, a sunburn, or sensitivity to the sun.
