Were you looking for information about Acne? Ackne is a common misspelling of acne.
When the follicle of an oil gland becomes clogged with oil, skin cells, and bacteria, it's called a pimple. Several pimples occurring in the same area are known as acne. Nearly 17 million people in the United States have acne, making it the most common skin disease. Heredity, changing hormone levels, and starting or stopping birth control pills can contribute to this condition. Fortunately, almost every case of acne can be resolved with proper treatment. A healthcare provider may recommend over-the-counter or prescription drugs for treating acne. In some cases, acne can even be prevented. For most people, acne goes away by age 30; however, some people in their 40s and 50s still get acne.
