Acanya Acne Medication Information
Available by prescription only, Acanya® (clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide) is a medication used to treat mild-to-severe acne. It comes in the form of a skin gel and is licensed for use in adults and children as young as 12 years old.
Typically, a thin layer of Acanya is applied to the affected area once daily. Possible side effects of this medicine may include itching, burning, and stinging.
To ensure your safety with Acanya, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on any other medications you are taking (including other acne medicines or skin products), as well as any allergies you may have, including to any drugs, foods, dyes, or preservatives. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
