Drug Interactions With Absorica

If you take certain antibiotics, St. John's wort, or progestin-only birth control pills in combination with Absorica, it can lead to potentially serious drug interactions. In some cases, these reactions may increase your risk for osteoporosis, high blood pressure in the head, or other serious problems. To help ensure a safe treatment, let your healthcare provider know about all other medications, vitamins, and supplements you are taking.

An Overview of Absorica Interactions

Absorica™ (isotretinoin) can potentially react with a number of other medications. Some of the products that may lead to drug interactions with Absorica include:
 
  • Corticosteroids, such as:
 
    • Betamethasone (Celestone®)
    • Cortisone
    • Dexamethasone (Decadron®)
    • Fludrocortisone (Florinef®)
    • Hydrocortisone (Cortef®)
    • Methylprednisolone (Depo-Medrol®, Medrol®)
    • Prednisolone (Orapred®, Pediapred®)
    • Prednisone
